At The Shop, you'll find a wide variety of food and essentials. We're proud to offer fresh local produce, groceries, bread and milk, plus a refillable section for food and household items. Alongside everyday staples, we also showcase goods from local producers, bringing quality and sustainability together under one roof.

Newspapers

Newspapers can be pre-ordered and collected from the shop.

Post and parcels

A pop‑up Post Office will be available twice a week. You can post parcels and letters, including international mail, withdraw cash, deposit cash into your account, and pay bills such as electricity, water, and telephone.

Monday to Saturday: 9am-5pm

Sunday: 10am-4pm

Cafe

Monday to Saturday: 9:30am-4pm

Post office

Monday and Thursday: 12:45pm-2:15pm

Cafe

Enjoy freshly prepared food and drinks in our friendly café. With bean‑to‑cup coffee, tea and cakes, it's the ideal place to meet friends, relax after shopping, or take a quiet moment.

Dog friendly

Dogs are welcome in the café, but they're not permitted in the shop area. If you're visiting the shop, dogs can be safely tied up outside at the front.

About Us

The Shop is owned and run by the people of Downderry and Seaton as a community benefit society. This means it belongs to local members, and any profits are reinvested into improving the shop and supporting community projects.

Local Suppliers

We are committed to working with local suppliers, and are proud to support farmers and producers across Cornwall. Many of our products come from right here in the county, reflecting the best of our community and its surroundings.

Get Involved

We welcome volunteers to help in the shop and cafe. We also need people to join our management committee. If you want to help, please get in touch.

Visit

We're located in the heart of Downderry village, Cornwall.

We're easily accessible by car with limited free parking on the street and pay and display parking across the road. If you're arriving by bus, the local service stops 50 metres away from The Shop.

Accessibility and facilities

The shop and cafe are wheelchair accessible. There is also an accessible toilet on site.

Dogs

When you are visiting the cafe dogs are welcome to join you. When using the shop however dogs should remain outside and can be tied up the available posts.
